SATELLITE SERIES OF NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS
The Satellite Series of notebook computers sports new contemporary styling and is available in three models — the T1800, T1850 and T1850C — with variations in hard disk and RAM capacity and monochrome or ultra STN color display technology.
The T1800 comes standard with a 20MHz 386SX CPU, 60MB hard disk drive, 2MB RAM (expandable to 10MB) and 9.5-inch VGA-compatible black and white LCD screen with 64 gray scales. The 386SX 25MHz T1850 offers the customer a choice of an 80MB or 120MB hard disk drive, 4MB RAM (expandable to 12MB) and a 9.5-inch VGA-compatible black and white LCD screen with 64 gray scales. The Satellite T1850C is differentiated from the other models by its bright 9.5-inch VGA-compatible ultra STN-LCD color screen.
All Satellite notebooks come standard with a parallel port, a serial port, a VGA monitor port, a PS/2 mouse port and a port for an optional 17-key keypad or 101-key enhanced keyboard adapter. Furthermore, the Satellite Series has a built-in dedicated Toshiba ''E''-style modem slot and credit card-style memory slot for easy expansion.
All bundled Satellite models are equipped with pre-installed software including DOS 5.0, Windows 3.1 and Ultrafont and bundled with a pointing device. Those models also feature a 20-minute video to help users get up to full productivity faster and easier. Pricing on both the bundled and unbundled models will be determined by the reseller.
T4400C NOTEBOOK COMPUTER
With its new 9.5-inch color TFT-LCD active-matrix display, the T4400C is the first and only battery powered 25MHz 486 notebook computer with this superior display technology on the market today.
The T4400C offers customers a choice of two models: 25MHz 486SX with a 120MB hard disk drive or 25MHz 486DX with a 200MB hard disk drive, both available with 8KB cache and an integrated co-processor (486DX model) or an optional 486DX upgrade (486SX model). Its large 9.5-inch VGA-compatible display features ''Super VGA'' color with TFT-LCD active matrix technology displaying 256 colors simultaneously at 640×480 from a palette of 185,193 colors. The notebook is powered by a NiCd battery with three-hour battery life and 1.5-hour recharge. Standard interfaces include a serial port, a parallel port, a PS/2 mouse port, external VGA (SVGA color) port, and an external keypad/101-key keyboard adapter port.
Currently shipping, the T4400C/120 with a 486SX CPU has a suggested retail price (SRP) of $3,999 and the T4400C/200 with a 486DX CPU is $4,799.
T4500 FAMILY OF NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS
The T4500 series is a new generation of 486-based notebook computers that introduce active-matrix color into the mainstream of business portable computing at affordable prices. The T4500 series features full 32-bit architecture with a 486SX microporcessor (3.3 volt chip set) running at 20MHz with 8K internal chip cache; 4MB of RAM (expandable up to 20MB); QuickRead LCD status icons, a ''one touch'' integrated pointing device, a 1.44MB 3.5-inch front-loading diskette drive; an option between a 120MB or 80MB hard disk drive; and a 16mm PCMCIA slot which will accept PCMCIA cards from 5mm to 16mm in thickness. Furthermore, the T4500 series offers a choice between the most advanced low-power active-matrix color TFT-LCD 8.5-inch diagonal display or a 9.5-inch diagonal high-resolution VGA monochrome display in a lightweight ergonomic design.
Also included is a ''one-touch'' Microsoft Ballpoint Mouse with QuickPort connection. The pointing device solution consists of five spring-loaded gold-plated pin-contacts between the Ballpoint Mouse and the Quickport socket built into the computer. It acts as both the mechanical and electrical connection, literally making the bond a ''plug and play'' solution.
Shipping in late January, the new T4500C color notebook computer with a 120MB hard disk drive has a suggested retail price of $4,399. The T4500 monochrome notebook computer has a suggested retail price of $2,999 with a 120MB hard drive and $2,799 with an 80MB hard drive.
