Questor Software Introduces Dekstop Link for Zoomer
SAN FRANCISCO — October 25, 1993 — Questor Software Inc. today announced the Desktop Link Software Developer Kit (SDK) and Desktop Link Runtime Software for the Tandy and Casio Zoomer.
Desktop Link enables software developers to quickly and easily make their Windows application "Zoomer aware." A turn key solution for developers, Desktop Link enables any Windows application to update, transfer and share its data with Zoomer PDAs.
Geoworks, developer of the efficient GEOS operating system running on the Zoomer and other consumer computing devices (CCDs), will distribute the Desktop Link SDK with their GEOS 2.0 Software Development Kit. "Questor's ability to deliver connectivity to the desktop for GEOS applications is very important for Zoomer customers," said Brian Dougherty, chairman and CEO of Geoworks. "By working with Questor we can provide a complete CCD to desktop solution for this exciting market."
Palm Computing will use Desktop Link to connect their Windows desktop applications with built-in applications on the Zoomer. Jeff Hawkins, Founder and Chairman of Palm Computing, said, "Integrating Questor's Desktop Link technology with Geoworks SDK will dramatically reduce our application development effort and allow us to easily add cross platform connectivity to our product line."
The Desktop Link SDK provides a consistent and standard set of APIs that are compatible with industry standard communications protocols including serial, infrared, modem and wireless.
