Fujitsu Signs Worldwide License for CIC’s Award Winning Pen Computing Technology
February 9, 1993 — Communication Intelligence Corp. (CIC)(NASDAQ: CICI, VSE: CUA) Tuesday announced that Fujitsu Ltd. of Japan has signed a worldwide license agreement and will begin to use and distribute CIC’s award winning, multilingual Handwriter Recognition System and Handwriter Dynamic Signature Verification software; PenDOS pen operating environment; and other related open-architected, pen computing software technology from CIC. CIC’s multilingual Hand-writer Recognition System and Dynamic Signature Verification Software won “Best Handwriting Recognizer” and “Best Pen Utility Application,” respectively, at PenExpo two weeks ago in San Francisco.
On January 26, Fujitsu Personal Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd., announced support for CIC’s PenDOS pen operating environment on the new pen-based, tablet-sized computer – the Fujitsu 325Point. According to the release, the Fujitsu 325Point is scheduled to ship March 1993, in North America through Fujitsu Personal Systems Partners, including systems integrators, VARs and OEMs.
