CIC Demonstrates Two New Enterprise Product Offerings Today at the GoMobile Industry Conference

SAN DIEGO — September 23, 1999 — Communication Intelligence Corporation ("CIC") (Nasdaq:CICI), the leading supplier of pen-based software solutions, will demonstrate its new Sign-it Secure dynamic signature verification software using a new version of the company's Win32 operating system extensions for pen called PenX VC in an on-stage demo today before leaders of the mobile computing industry at the GoMobile conference in Southern California.

Sign-it Secure is a follow-on product to the initial version of Sign-it that was introduced earlier this year to enable signature capture in Adobe Acrobat 4.0 documents. This new version of Sign-it will not only capture the act of signing, but it will also enhance the security of workflow transactions by verifying the signature and the authenticity of the signer before it is bound to the Adobe PDF document.

Used in conjunction with PenX VC, which enables pen-input on thin-clients running Citrix's ICA software (Nasdaq:CTXS), Sign-it Secure is expected to provide a major breakthrough in authentication based workflow for electronic commerce and corporate forms processing.

"Adobe PDF has become the defacto standard in final form electronic documents," stated Sarah Rosenbaum, Group Product Manager for Adobe Systems. "By supporting Acrobat with their new suite of signature solutions, CIC will enable a host of new application opportunities in electronic document exchange. We are pleased that with Sign-it Secure, Acrobat users will now not only have an effective way to share documents, but they will also have a tool to approve, authenticate and secure the information contained in these documents."

Russ Davis, VP Product Development for CIC added, "Sign-it Secure and PenX VC are extensions of CIC's core technologies. We recognize the growth of pen enabled devices for the enterprise and are positioning our products to provide the greatest functionality for those environments."

The PenX VC client has been licensed to Fujitsu Personal Systems Inc. (FPSI) for use on their new PenCentra product. Negotiations with other OEMs are on-going. These products are available through CIC's enterprise sales group. Enterprise sales can be reached by calling 650/802-7888 or emailing [email protected].
