DataViz(R) Inc. is now shipping Documents To Go(TM), a product that easily brings important files from office suite applications like Word, Excel and others to the Palm Computing platform. Documents To Go uses HotSync(R) technology to provide a complete solution for viewing up-to-date versions of users' everyday files on any Palm Computing organizer. By dragging word processing files and spreadsheets into the Documents To Go window on the desktop PC or Mac, the files will automatically be converted and optimized for remote viewing on the Palm(TM) device. There is no need to specially format the documents on the desktop. Pressing the HotSync button brings the viewable files to the Palm Computing organizer instantly.
Up-To-Date Versions of the Desktop Files – Automatically
During a synchronization, Documents To Go checks to make sure all documents on the Palm Computing device are current. If any changes are made to the desktop files, updated versions are created automatically during the next synchronization. The program can even access files stored on servers, so whether performing a local, modem or network synchronization, users can be sure to have up-to-date files in hand.
View Files from Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite and Corel WordPerfect Suite
Documents To Go provides viewers for both word processing and spreadsheet files, as well as a conduit to keep them synchronized. While spreadsheet applications exist for the Palm Computing platform, DataViz is the first to develop a standard for spreadsheet viewing – allowing quick access to important information even from large, complicated desktop spreadsheets. Word processing files are converted into the standard Doc format for the Palm organizer.
