Fujitsu Sponsors Working Mobility Expo for Pen Tablet Reseller Solutions and Services
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — September 28, 1998 — Fujitsu Personal Systems Inc. (FPSI), the market leader in Windows(R) pen tablet computers, will host the Working Mobility Expo on Nov. 7-9 in Orlando, Fla.
Now in its second year, the Expo will attract value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and complementary vendors from across North America and around the world.
The Working Mobility Expo is specifically designed to promote partnering opportunities and showcase FPSI's commitment to channel support and the expansion of pen-based solutions. Expo participants will see the latest advancements in pen tablet solutions and services, create partnerships and discuss new ideas for the implementation of pen applications and products in mission-critical environments.
The Expo will open the evening of Nov. 7 with a keynote speech from FPSI CEO Louis Panetta, who will discuss market opportunities, products and the company's direction in pen computing. Exhibits will be open on Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Geoff Walker, vice president of marketing for FPSI, will speak on trends in pen computing technology.
On Nov. 9, FPSI will hold a VAR certification course at a special 50% off discount rate. Designed to qualify eligible resellers as FPSI Certified VARs, the course provides attendees with the marketing and technical knowledge needed to strengthen sales, better support end users and provide more effective pen-based solutions to their customers. FPSI VARs integrate mobile computing system solutions in industries such as healthcare, insurance, sales force automation, utilities, public safety, government and others.
"The Expo is a direct result of our work with the FPSI VAR Council," commented Bill Clevenger, director of field and channel marketing for FPSI. "This program provides the ideal environment where our sales channel, software developers and complementary hardware vendors can meet with our sales representatives, network with potential partners and learn about mobile computing solutions — all under one roof. This annual event clearly demonstrates Fujitsu's commitment to channel support and development of partnering opportunities."
Tamara Ells, vice president of marketing and sales for FPSI VAR Council member Entre/PC Solutions said, "We discovered new applications that complemented our own offerings at last year's event. The Expo gave us an opportunity to present our market expertise and to build and strengthen our business relationships. We expect to accomplish the same goal this year."
