Global Knowledge Bridges the Knowledge Gap with Mobile eLearning for Nortel Networks

CARY, N.C. — July 10, 2001 — Nortel Networks Enterprise Solutions Training, a division of Global Knowledge, Inc., (http://get.globalknowledge.com/norteltraining) the world's largest independent provider of integrated IT education solutions, announced today the launch of eSentials, its new mobile e-Learning subscription series that allows users of Palm devices to quickly access Nortel Networks training information.

eSentials represents an important component of Global Knowledge's Blended Learning Solutions — a company-wide commitment to providing integrated education in a format most convenient for students. eSentials provides anytime, anywhere training information, allowing Nortel Networks IT professionals to quickly apply new technology while working and training in the field.

The eSentials series consists of short units of information, job aids, and quick tips on a variety of Nortel Networks technical, product, and operations information. A subscription provides one year of unlimited downloads in both PDF (AdobeAcrobatReader) format for your home computer and PDB (iSiloPlayer) format for your Palm Computing Platform PDA. The subscription service offers a variety of information on Nortel Networks products, including Nortel Networks products taught by Global Knowledge, with new titles available throughout the year. The service is intended to be a quick reference tool and reinforce the main curriculum taught in training courses.

"eSentials takes learning to the next level without the cost or inconvenience of travel by offering users the ability to access precise training information through hand-held devices," says Duncan Anderson, president and CEO, Global Knowledge. "This new method of learning supports our overall commitment to our Blended Learning Solutions offerings for Nortel Networks."

To access eSentials, students simply log onto the Global Knowledge Nortel Networks Web site. Users can choose either the Platinum Program, which includes a Palm Pilot IIIxe and the choice of three subscription packages, or the Gold Program, which does not include the PDA.

Subscription packages currently being offered include: eSentials Subscription Service – Sales/Sales Engineering (0950S or 0953S w/PDA), eSentials Subscription Service – Database Administration (0951S or 0954S w/PDA), and eSentials Subscription Service – Installation, Maintenance & Support (0952S or 0955S w/PDA).
